Germany and Prague Tour: Köln(Cologne)

2 and a half months summer holiday. If you don't go back to Malaysia, what can you do? Well, a lot. Tour germany. You need only 2 and a half weeks(and some money, of course). That was what Kee, Sky, Tan and I have done. Our first destination was Köln or Cologne in english.
We spent 28 and 29 Aug nights there in Station Hostel. Hostel was not bad but one thing, it is too near to the Hauptbahnhof(main train station) that we heard announcements from the train station all night long.

A speciality from Cologne, its Kölsch beer. It is usually served in long, thin, cylindrical 0.2 litre glasses.


Another type of beer in Cologne? No, it is Eau de Cologne. Cologne perfume gets its name from Cologne where it was first produced here. The brand was named 4711 because in 1796, during the French occupation of Cologne, the French commander in Cologne, General Daurier, ordered the consecutive numbering of houses. Wilhelm Muehlens'(founder of this company) house was given the number 4711, which then in 1875 became a registerd trademark.
