Miri & Mulu National Park 2007
After more than one year in Germany, I was back in Malaysia for holiday in Feb 07. It was a great timing to be back home- CNY and the wedding of my bro. Managed to meet up with more old friends than I have expected. Here are some photos from my visit to Miri and Mulu National Park.
Deer Cave - the largest cave passage in the world.
Profile of Abraham Lincoln as seen from the Deer Cave.
The Grand Old Lady- the first oil well in Malaysia, built 1910. Sorry Lynn Xuan, this is the only photo from Miri that I can show here. Didn't take many photos in Miri.
Deer Cave.
Millions of bats leaving Deer Cave in Mulu National Park at evenings for food.
Cave formation in Lang's Cave
Passing through the Moon Milk Cave.
Swimming in the crystal clear pool that is filled by water that flows out of the Clearwater Cave.
River cruise in a long boat.
It's a toilet.
Taking a walk in a stream. Notice how clear is the water!
Canopy Skywalk, at 480 metres long is the longest tree-based walkway in the world.
Taking a rest before continuing.
Not even a single nail is used in building this Canopy Skywalk.
Walked through mud to an insignificant waterfall, but worth the walk nonetheless.
Some pics of insects found in the park for the closing:
Mysterious water insect attacked us when we were at the waterfall.
Confused butterflies thought my shoes were one of their kind.
